Worst Customer Service.



If you're living in the US, there's a good chance you're using a phone on one of the four major carriers: Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. And phones today are built to work in more places with more network bands so it will be an even easier transition. Two-year contracts and employer-mandated phones can give the appearance of loyalty (retention) while unhappy customers are just waiting for the first chance to bolt.

Wilson Electronics has been the market leader for years, providing cellular solutions for hundreds of thousands of poor signal Sprint customers. And Samsung's Instinct phone, which Sprint began offering this month for $129, is selling out at Sprint stores, according to Mr. Hesse.

T-Mobile 's overall performance is ranked behind Sprint, but only by a hair (RootMetrics rates Sprint at 87.8 and T-Mobile at 86.8). Also, T-Mobile has the same data cap as Sprint with both slowing speeds when you reach 50 GB. With both carriers being pretty similar it really boils cellphone down to what additional features you want.

What's surprising is that these low numbers come at a time when the phone company has been bending over backwards to improve their customer service. That's part of why these companies put in the extra effort to help their customers, and it's great to hear that Sprint did for Kira. If you were around for either event and your phone company got bought out by a larger one, you know there weren't any changes that required a new phone for quite some time.

If the deal closes, T-Mobile will get a company that is poorly managed and is known for poor service. Unfortunately, 2.5GHz (Band 41) is not supported by weBoost boosters at this time, while the other two bands and the rest of Sprint's 3G & 4G LTE are supported.
